A story

The big changes came through small differences

Bloating that never went away, waking up tired however long she slept, reflux, H. pylori

What she arrived with

Whatever I did, I had a swelling that never went away and that I knew wasn't mine. However much I slept, I woke up tired. I had spots on my face that nothing cleared. I had stomach and digestive problems like reflux and H. pylori. I wanted to know what my body needed.
Before this I had tried to lose weight by going hungry, with rigid routines squeezed into lists, because I mistook my bloating for weight. Nobody had told me: you are not overweight, your digestion is just slow, because you are not eating for that fire.

What actually worked

It was definitely turning routines into rituals and letting more of them into my life. Your suggestions that made the process easier, and the examples you gave from your own life and practice, made a big difference.
Instead of forcing change to happen fast, allowing it to flow slowly, without hurry, was one of the things that served me best. The big changes came through small differences, and there was no need to rush at all.

What changed

The bloating and the constipation were the first things to resolve. After that, the most striking changes for me were mental calm, being able to stop, being able to slow down.
I began to hear my body. It really was telling me what it needed, and being able to listen to that is a wonderful experience now.
I have let go of routines. They are all rituals that hold awareness now, even eating. I used to eat in front of the TV, fast, without noticing what I was eating. Now I focus on the taste of the food and the feeling it leaves in my mouth. Even something as small as putting the spoon down between bites changed a great deal.

The order Büşra describes matters. The bloating went first, then her mind quietened. Once her body began to feel safe, the rest followed on its own, and none of it was forced.
